Unusual stainless steel radiator shell with stainless slats. Never installed but it is definitely a replica as inside the shell is the manufacturer, Ro-Mar Products out of Florida.

Estate cleanout run by a nephew who said the unfinished MG was sold last year. Somehow this radiator shell and a few other pieces were overlooked and he just found them above the garage only hours earlier.

The shell is highly polished to a brilliant, chrome-like finish.  Notice, holes have not been drilled for the trailing edge of the shell.  Grill slats bolt into place with room for adjustment.  Size 10-32 bolts have been welded in place to which the insert is held.  There is one bolt missing on the lower right.  I was informed it can be easily welded and the stainless easily polished again.  I would think epoxy or JB Weld would hold it.  The slats on the insert have been stamped into a "vee" shape and then spot welded to a frame which then bolts in.  I don't know if that is how they were originally.  Refer to the photos please.

The only real imperfection I can see is the on very lower right side just below the opening a very slight indent can be seen which should be easily pressed out.   As you can see from the back side photos, it has been welded and carefully formed.

At the widest part on the back side it measures 17.75" though there is room for expanding or narrowing it a bit as the metal has flex at that point. I've taken as many pictures as eBay allows to be posted though some may be a bit difficult as the trees overhead cause a reflection.

Please examine all of them and it is up to you to ask questions or raise any concerns you might have.  My goal is to make customers happy and not create ill-will as my feedback shows.  You may contact me with specific questions at 253 225 6433 any time after 6:00 am on the west coast.  If you need more pictures I can send them.  It is up to you to be sure this is what you want as there are no returns. It has been described to the best of my ability and the photos do the rest.  Bear in mind this is a reproduction so some adjustments may be necessary though maybe not as I have no idea. You must take that into consideration as part of your restoration.

It will be carefully packaged and shipped via the lowest cost shipper which may be FedEx, UPS or USPS.  It is my choice as to which ever is least expensive to you.  A modest $3.00 handling fee is included for the extra time and materials in order to prepare it for safe shipping.  Please be aware that all shipper have raised the prices again in May.

NOTE:  International buyers: A 5% handling fee will be added to the final selling price to cover additional materials for packing and trips to the shipper.

Manufacturers missing the new target would be fined heavily.

Driven: Mazda RX-8

Thu, 27 Nov 2008

The two most obvious elements of its unusual make-up are its rotary engine and rear-hinged rear doors with integral B-pillars. What became clear during our week with the RX-8 was how these two aspects of its design form the basis of many other unique qualities... Sports coupe and GT coupe The rotary engine of the RX-8 has a very distinct power delivery that is a defining part of the car's character, but it is also a very small lump of metal compared to a similarly powerful conventional reciprocating piston engine, enabling more of the car's overall length to be devoted to cabin space.
