Northumbria University's magnificent new School of Design, which opened just two years ago, is a typical example of the exciting architecture now emerging in this city and CDN decided to pay a visit to catch up with this fast-developing UK design school.

It's a city-car sized MPV with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that'll return up to 113mpg, according to BMW's figures. We tend to refer to Koenigsegg as men in a shed in Sweden, which might sound disparaging – but it isn’t. It’s a big doff of the cap to an operation which, by any normal standards in the car world, is so small it couldn’t possibly do anything really innovative and ground breaking.
