Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport ‘L’Or Blanc’: It’s a ‘Potty’ Veyron
Fri, 01 Jul 2011The porcelain-enhanced Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport 'L'Or Blanc' You could argue that every Bugatti Veyron is a rather potty car. But the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport ‘L’Or Blanc’ is even more potty than usual – it’s got bits of porcelain all over the car. That’s porcelain as in ceramics; the stuff your best China is made from, that goes on the walls in the kitchen and bathroom and insulates power stations.
Mini Clubman concept (2014) first official pictures
Wed, 26 Feb 2014By Damion Smy First Official Pictures 26 February 2014 09:00 This is the new Mini Clubman Concept and, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you – it has more doors than ever. The new four-door (well, six if you could the two-piece rear opening) is the first Mini to have two sets of cabin doors, and will offer the same range of three- and four-cylinder engines as the rest of the range. Just as the Fiat 500 range is expanding in terms of size, doors and oddity, the Mini family is growing too. While officially it’s a concept, given the brand’s history of production ready showcars, you won’t have to squint too hard – or at all – for the road-going version.
BMW works hard to avoid gas-guzzler tax
Thu, 05 Aug 2010BMW AG hopes to get out from under the gas-guzzler taxes that are tacked on to the sticker prices of some of its high-performance models in the United States. Jim O'Donnell, president of BMW of North America, says the company is studying fuel-efficiency improvements that could eliminate the gas-guzzler taxes on its vehicles as early as the launch of their redesigns in the next few years. The 2010 550i GT incurs a $1,000 gas-guzzler fee, for example.
