Up for auction here is a 1965 Ford 3 Speed transmission. This is a short tail section transmission and is 17 1/4" long from the bellhousing to the end of the tail section. The numbers on the transmission are as follows and most all of them are visible in the photo's. Some are difficult to see even up close but I could make out most all of them. On the passenger side of the transmission, on the small metal tag affixed with a rivit are the letters RAT H 1 and below that on the tag are the numbers 07-3133. Below the tag and to the left can be seen an inverted(upside down) number 4. To the left of this on the same side is a small round circle with the numbers 2 3 5 7 9 and I do not know in which order the numbers are supposed to be listed. On the drivers side of the transmission below the reverse gear shift pin is a rectangular block with the FOMOCO insignia inside of that. To the right of the insignia is a rectangular block with the designation C5AR and just below the this is the number 7006. To the right of these two numbers in the block is a LARGE letter C. Above this block is a small rectangular section with the letters SPEC on it. To the right and just above the afore mentioned numbers/letters is the designation DIF. Just above the DIF is an inverted F. On the tail section of the transmission on the passenger side the following numbers and letters are listed: In a square shaped block are the number/letters RE-C5TR, just below that is the number/letter 7A040-B and just below that is the designation W-1. Below this square block is a small rectangular block with the numbers/letters as E24(as best I can make out). The front shaft is 1 1/8" and the rear shaft is 1 3/16" as best I can determine. I believe this transmission would have been planned for a 1965 F100 with the inline 300 cu in 6 cylinder or the 360 V8. There could be other uses and I am sure there were. This transmission also has the wider "butterfly" bolt pattern for the bellhousing connection. As for the tail section I have seen some of these transmissions with a fixed yoke for connection to the drive shaft. The tip of this output shaft is threaded for 1" but has splines up into the transmission. It is still a great transmission in new condition. Has never been used. I have tried to list everything I know and can see. If you have any question, I will try and find an answer if I do not know. Thanks for looking. As for shipping this transmission....... If you have a trucking terminal(less than truck load) in your town it would be to your advantage to get a quote from them and use "terminal pickup" as your receiving place. I do not have a trucking facility here and would have to call one from Roanoke Va. I have found it to be less costly with a "local" trucking facility. I will have it on a pallet. Approximately 36"X24"X15" and weight approximately 80lbs.

Apparently, the 2012 Honda Civic will be quiet & refined

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

2012 Honda Civic - it's quiet As we said on the last story we ran about the 2012 Honda Civic, Honda are taking its launch very seriously, And they’re doing the normal new car tease too, but in a very Honda way. Instead of being lazy and just divvying up a new arty photo of the new Civic once a week for a month, Honda are going the Jaguar XJ school of car teases (just in smaller numbers). Which means proper detail with each tease and some proper thought in the presentation.
