DESCRIPTION: You are bidding on an authentic, very rare set of 1968 428 Cobra Jet Heads. The date code on one looks partial at a 8B7 (February 7,1968) and the other is unreadable. I was told that they came from a running #s matching motor. The heads have been taken apart, magnafluxed, washed, threads cleaned, and surface checked. The machine shop told me that they are in perfect shape. I did not harden the seats or port and polish. The machinist cleaned up the valves and washed off the springs. He claimed that the springs and hardware looked like it had very little use. I am also selling the rocker arms that came with these heads in another auction. I will be shipping these heads in separate boxes to keep from damage. I see many 1969-70 428 SCJ heads, but these are the first authentic 1968 CJ heads I have ever come across.

VW Golf R 400 could get more than 400PS – which makes a bit of a nonsense of its name
Mon, 12 May 2014The VW Golf R 400 (pictured) may not actually be an R 400 The Beijing Motor Show last month saw the debut of the VW Golf R 400, an extreme take on the VW Golf R with a full 400 PS (395bhp) at its disposal. When Volkswagen revealed the R 400 as a concept we did note that it looked more production-ready than concept, and it took VW less than a week to confirm that the Golf R 400 was indeed heading for production. Now, just to muddy the waters a bit (or raise expectations), VW’s R&D chief Heinz-Jakob Neusser has said that when the Golf R 400 does arrive it could well be with more than 400PS.

There are high hopes for the new Peugeot 208 GTi, with Peugeot desperately hoping a performance halo for the 208 range will evoke memories of the terrific 205 GTi and filter down in to much bigger sales for more prosaic 208s. So to keep interest in the public debut of the 208 GTi next week, Peugeot has been busy cobbling together a promo video to show the new GTi blatting around – in and out of focus – so we don’t have chance to forget the 208 GTI is on its way.
