Offering a very rare 1972 Arctic Cat Ramrod mini bike in excellent original condition. Bike was purchased in late 2011 and immediately placed in storage with the intent of having a complete ground up restoration performed. Due to finances, I will not be able to have the bike fully restored as planned.   Right before the bike was purchased, the previous owner had recently completed a rebuild on the 98cc Kawasaki engine. If you look at the original chain, sprockets, torque converter belt, tires, seat and fiberglass torque converter cover, this original condition bike was very well taken care of. Per the previous owner, the only non original piece on the bike was an electronic ignition that was installed years earlier in place of the points and condenser and the air cleaner which a correct NOS one was purchased. NOS piston rings, bearings, and seals were purchased. The bore was in very nice shape with hardly any wear so a hone job and new rings went in the top end along with new bearings and seals in the bottom end. Only thing not found were the gaskets of which new ones were made. The copper head gasket was reused with sealer. The electronic ignition system was removed and replaced with NOS points and condenser. The taillight, rear brake lever, and rear brake cable were replaced. Both wheel brakes function correctly. The handlebars have some chrome peeling; the original exhaust pipe has been welded in one place. The rubber throttle grip is missing. The headlight and taillight work, and the original tires are not dry rotted/cracked. The front tire does slowly leak down after about a week. The rims are in very nice shape with no pits and should clean up nicely with some polish and elbow grease. Same goes for the hubs. The seat is rip free, the tank is clean, the gas cap is clear and works as does the gas gauge. The foot pegs are not missing rubber. Has a new kill button. This bike is in amazing original condition. The Ramrod model only had a one year production run making this a very rare bike.   Located in Las Vegas, Nevada and available for local pickup only. Seller does not have the ability to box or crate, nor coordinate transportation services. Seller accepts PayPal only, with payment due within 3 days of close of auction. Buyer must make arrangements with seller to have bike picked up within 10 days of completed transaction. Thank you for looking.

Volvo’s brave new future starts here. In the metal (and aluminium) it’s embodied by this Concept Coupe, a 2+2 grand tourer that evokes the spirit of the classic 1960s P1800. Prepared for this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show the Concept Coupe shows how all future Volvos will look, starting with the XC90 in 12 months’ time.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Super Bowl spot

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

It takes a certain kind of chutzpah for a German company that supplied the Nazi war machine to use a track that features the line, “I rode a tank / Held a general's rank / When the Blitzkrieg raged / And the bodies stank.” Apparently, Mercedes-Benz has exactly that sort of chutzpah. The premise, of course, is that you don't have to sell your soul to afford the company's stylish new CLA. That for under 30 grand, you too can dance with Usher, be pulled into red-carpet photographs with Kate Upton, and compete in Formula 1 races.

Renault Formula E racer (2013) at Frankfurt motor show

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

Formula E, the new elite racing series for electric single-seaters, has got the FIA’s backing, confirmed the major cities that will host the races, and now we've finally seen the crucial racecar. This is the Spark-Renault SRT_01E, a joint project developed between Renaultsport and Spark Racing Technology (SRT) which has just been unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show. There’s also been input from F1 legends Williams and McLaren, plus Dallara (which builds all the cars for the IndyCar series in the US).
