1978 Harley Davidson Fxe 1200 Super Glide Engine Motor Shovelhead Vintage on 2040-parts.com
Neffs, Ohio, United States
ITEM: (78-017) 1978 Harley Davidson FXE 1200 Super Glide Engine Motor These came off a 1978 Harley Davidson FXE 1200 Super Glide. Known actual mileage: Unknown. Previous owner purchased bike as a custom chopper project and decided to move on because taking up space and no time to finish (lost interest - bought a new bike). Not much known about prior history from previous owner(s). Frame is raked at 30 degrees and made from a salvaged Michigan bike. Several chrome and aftermarket parts and will try to sort and list correctly. Parts come as seen in photos with no warranty. Damage noted below if any. Hardware comes with each item when available either installed back into said item, or separately in a baggie partially complete or complete when possible and photoed. Previous owner did have some areas where pieces of hardware were incomplete for whatever reason. Please note I do not have resources to offer fitment information. Please do your homework when cross referencing parts and compatibility since many of these parts will cross over to different makes, models, and years. Please note, this is a 1989 model. Check with a reliable source that this year's parts will fit your bike before purchasing. Compatibility chart is for reference only and not gospel. Notes/Damage/Issues/Concerns: Engine was rebuilt less than 5000 miles ago. At time of rebuild: Bored 30 over with new pistons and rings, new cam and lifters as well as new valves seated. New chrome accents to top end as well as one of the top cylinders was replaced brand new due to broken fins (by my mechanic). Cam - points cover was replaced with brand new chrome cover by my mechanic. Had the old aluminum polished one on so decided to replace it and continue with chrome theme. Also replaced points and installed electric ignition (by my mechanic). Has brand new seals/gaskets. Top end is doubled gasket if wondering per my mechanic's advice. Will notice a couple fine scratches upon closer inspection in a small area on top of one of the cylinder head's chrome cover. Please view photos below.

Again our apologies for this. Again local pickups are always welcome. Please include valid contact phone # for freight carrier. If occurs will be notified immediately. Canada and all other international inquiries please email me for a quote. The $1000.00 is not the actual shipping cost, but rather a number put in price generator. Canada will go by freight carrier, and all others by air to closest international port of entry or, by sea if service available. Please email for more accurate rate. ALL custom fees, duties, broker fees, and taxes are sole responsibility of international buyer. Due to each country's varying rates and accessibility to get these rates. We are unable to give you a quote as to what they are, and encourage you to seek out your local customs agency, or broker ahead of time to find out what these fees will be so as not to be surprised by them when go to pick up your shipment. Many of the larger, but lighter items such as frames, ATV plastic body sets, carriers and such have higher than expected shipping costs due to their dimensional weights. If not familiar with dimensional weight; please contact us by email or your local UPS/FedEx store so they can explain in detail how it is calculated. DOMESTIC SHIPPING: Shipping is based on the LOWER 48 states. Use shipping calculator above to determine shipping cost to your location if not noted as Flat Shipping. Approximate weights and dimensions have been added for your convenience. AK, GU, HI, PR, and any other U.S. Territory please email for a quote. Please note holidays may also affect shipping times for certain carriers. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Please email me for a quote, or use price calculator in shipping details. Mazda 2 facelift (2010) first picture
Mon, 23 Aug 2010While it's not the best supermini out there (Ford's excellent Fiesta currently occupies that throne in CAR's world view), we've always had something of a soft spot for the second-generation Mazda 2, the principal reason being its non-subscription to the usual theory that bigger is better. Weighing in at under a tonne, it's almost a throwback to superminis of yore - and we mean that in a good way.Thankfully the new Mazda 2 doesn't appear to have changed much. The front end has received attention from the stylist's pen in order to bring it in line with Mazda's current line-up, and features new headlamps alongside a layered grille.
Jaguar C-X16 concept (2011) the first official sketch of Jag's F-type
Wed, 17 Aug 2011This is Jaguar’s new sub-XK sports car. As we revealed back in 2009, Jaguar is working on an all-new small sports car, nicknamed the XE, to compete with Porsche’s best – and this is it. This official design sketch teases the concept car (dubbed C-X16, the hybrid supercar concept is C-X75) that will appear at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show in September.
Lamborghini LP560-4 Superleggera coming?
Fri, 18 Sep 2009What appears to be a Lamborhgini LP560-4 Superleggera out testing But if the photo above is anything to go by it looks as if Lamborghini is planning a Superleggera version of the LP560-4 sooner rather than later. Which would work out pretty well for Lamborghini as they have rashly declared that they will deliver a new car at every road show, and with the replacement for the Murcielago cars – LP640/LP650-4/LP670-4 – still some way off, this could be a good solution. They’ve run out of new cars for shows after revealing the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster this week at Frankfurt, so they need to get a bit of a hustle on before the next major show if they’re going to keep their promise.
