These have been cleaned of All of the Factory Loc-Tite and are ready to use. Marcello Gandini has branded current concept cars fakes and "little more than maquettes" in an interview about Bertone's extensive concept car history. The enigmatic designer, whose work with the design house stretches back to the late ‘60s, expressed his dislike of today's "fiberglass cars" and claims they can't hold a candle to the well-built concepts of old. He praises Nuccio Bertone's vision and his insistence on producing fully working, "almost driveable" concepts throughout the coachbuilder's existence.

We love a little friendly interteam rivalry--especially when it involves driver Travis Pastrana and his boss at DC Shoes, Ken Block. Gymkhana ace Block released a video in February featuring his new livery for the DC Shoes WRC Ford Fiesta and his 2011 schedule of events. The hard-rock-and-techno-scored video shows Block in race gear, with his car and a few femme fatales in black vinyl and other DC gear.

Banks and Dallenbach ready for Pikes Peak with 1,400 hp

Not content to rest on his laurels after developing new diesel engines for military applications, Gale Banks and his company Banks Power will run a 1,400-hp, 1,301 lb-ft methanol-fueled vehicle up the now completely paved course at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, which is scheduled to take place Aug. 8-12. Banks teamed up with Paul Dallenbach and Leonard Arnold of Dallenbach Racing for the occasion.
