2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X rolls into production in Detroit

One of the most sinister snakes to slither out of the Dodge Viper plant in Detroit rolled off the assembly line on Tuesday as Chrysler simultaneously marks the final year of production for the current generation of its iconic supercar and launches a new race series. The first 2010 Viper SRT10 ACR-X was completed at the Connor Avenue plant, also known as the “Snake Pit” in the Motor City. It's a track-only car designed for road-racing enthusiasts, and it melds top performance parts from the Viper ACR (street legal) and the Viper Competition Coupe (far from it).

Vauxhall Astra GTC - the 3 door Astra will be revealed in June Actually, we’re not sure we should really have called this a reveal of the new Vauxhall Astra GTC. It’s more the reveal of the production version of the GTC Concept we already saw at the Paris Motor Show last year. Surprisingly, the Astra GTC manages to hang on to quite a bit of the style of the GTC Concept, such as the blistered wheel arches and the deep grill, although the usual conpcety stuff – like oversized alloys – have had to bite the dust.

GM to pull Cadillac from some European markets

General Motors will halt Cadillac sales in more than half of the brand's European markets following the collapse of its regional distributor. The U.S. carmaker will focus on markets such as Russia, the United Kingdom and Switzerland where the luxury brand has been able to compete against Germany's BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi premium brands.
