I have for sale a used cooling fan from a 2009 Jetta Sportwagen TDI.  It is the original part shipped with the car.  The fan operates, but stops intermittently for unknown reasons.  I replaced it with a new one, and the new one operates normally.  A technician from Ross-Tech suggested that it may be a problem with the electronics in the fan motor that occurs only when the fan gets hot from the engine.  I can't verify this is what's happening.  I opened the fan motor and everything looked to be in really good shape, and the brushes have plenty of life left (it was taken apart before I had the replacement, it was reinstalled, and the fan worked the same as before disassembly).  Maybe can be used for parts, don't know if it can be fixed.

Ultra-low-mileage Chevrolet Corvair Monza heads to the auction block

Tue, 25 Mar 2014

We've never really paused to appreciate the subtle good looks of the Chevrolet Corvair, especially the end-of-the-line 1969 Corvair Monza coupe. But this particular car, which will be sold at the upcoming Mecum Houston auction on April 11, will make you stop and take stock. Even if you're Ralph Nader, you can't help but be impressed by its extreme originality: It has just 15 miles on the odometer.

2012 Interior Motives School League Report

Thu, 27 Sep 2012

In addition to showcasing the talent of student designers, the 2012 Interior Motives Design Awards acknowledged for the first time the achievements of the schools that nurtured them with its inaugural ‘Most Successful School' award. After a close-run battle with Italy's Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) that was eventually decided by just a single point, the award went to London's Royal College of Art. This one-off award for the RCA is backed up by CDN's league table of school success over the past five years, which has now been updated to include the results from the 2012 Interior Motives Design Awards.
