This lighter duty 4 step folding ladder is an innovative ladder, which is designed for environments that experience normal to heavy marine growth. When not in use, simply fold the lower steps above the water line to eliminate marine growth. Folding ladders are primarily used on stationary docks, floating docks, and on seawalls that have freeboards of at least 15" above average high tide. They are made of anodized aluminum and supports up to 300lbs. The large wide steps are angled for climbing comfort. Rounded handrails are 15" high and extend 11" onto the dock. The included J-hook hardware and footman loops allows for quick installation and removal.

NHTSA probing coolant leak in Porsche 911?

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

In another embarrassing failure to understand what they're supposed to be regulating, the NHTSA has announced that they are investigating a “coolant leak” in Porsche 911s that were built with the GT1 engine block between 2001 and 2007. Maybe when they said coolant, they were talking about the oil that circulates in a 911 to keep the engine cool? Next thing you know, they'll be checking out fuel pumps on the Tesla Model S!

New Mercedes A45 AMG has 105 years of 4WD on its side

Wed, 15 Aug 2012

With the new Mercedes A45 AMG on the horizon – complete with 4WD – Mercedes chart the history of all wheel drive on their vehicles. We tend to think of 4WD road cars as a modern innovation, and certainly very few 4WD road cars hit the road in a mainstream way much before the 1980s (the Jensen FF was hardly mainstream before someone points out that was in the 1960s). But the history of 4WD goes back, certainly in the case of Mercedes, a surprising 105 years when Daimler built the Dernburg-Wagen, a 4WD vehicle that not only got all-wheel drive but all wheel steering too.
