Pagani Zonda R at the Nurburgring: on video
Fri, 06 Aug 2010The phrase 'broken record' at the Nurburgring has become ever so slightly over-used. Every other week, another manufacturer steps forward with claims of shaving time off the fabled record. Pagani are guilty of this as much as the next supercar brand. Koenigsegg Agera R World Speed Records now official (video)
Thu, 01 Dec 2011Koenigsegg Agera R gets Guinness World Speed Record - Video One of the speed records set back in September by the incredible Koenigsegg Agera R has now been ratified by Guinness - 0-300-0 km/h (0-186-0 mph) in 21.9 seconds. As we say every time Koenigsegg jumps in to vision with another bonkers car or speed feat, we’re amazed at just what a handful of men with beards (except Christian von Koenigesgg – who doesn’t seem to have a hair to his name) can do from a shed in the snow of Sweden. What makes Koenigsegg even more impressive is that it’s not just that they produce a stunning looking hypercar, but that they do it all themselves.
VW Concept BlueSport at Detroit auto show 2009
Mon, 12 Jan 2009By Tim Pollard Motor Shows 12 January 2009 05:29 CAR's been tipping it for ages, but today we finally saw the first proof of VW's ambitions to build a Lotus Elise-style back-to-basics roadster. The Concept BlueSport is a mid-engined sports car with the emphasis firmly on the lack of frills – to the benefit of performance, handling and the car's environmental credentials. The BlueSport is compact at just 3999mm long and that mid-mounted engine keeps weight distribution even-Stevens at 45:55.
