Diesel-powered Audi A3 Sportback TDI coming to America in 2015

The Audi A3 family has another America-bound variant: the automaker announced at the New York auto show that a diesel-powered Audi A3 Sportback TDI will go on sale here in 2015. Previously, we were told that the plug-in hybrid version of the vehicle -- the so-called Audi A3 Sportback e-tron -- would be the only one to make it to American markets. Ferrari has been there since the beginning of F1, which makes Silverstone 2011 the 60th anniversary of Formula One, and to celebrate Ferrari is to release a limited edition model – the Ferrari 599 GTB 60F1. Based on the HGTE package available for the regular Ferrari 599 – which means stiffer springs and dampers, a bigger stabilizer bar at the back, bigger rubber and lowered suspension – the 599 GTB 60F1 is part of Ferrari’s Tailor Made programme (which does what it says on the tin).

Porsche threatens to pull Boxster production from Magna

Porsche is considering canceling an existing contract with Magna to build the next-generation Boxster and Cayman in Austria starting in 2013 and may instead move production to Karmann in Germany. The move would be aimed at protecting Porsche's closely guarded engineering and production cost secrets for its upcoming entry-level roadster and coupe. Porsche insiders say plans established under former boss Wendelin Weideking to build the Boxster and the Cayman at Magna's Graz factory in Austria are now being heavily reviewed following the Canadian/Austrian company's bid to take control of financially embattled Opel from General Motors.
