You are bidding on a pair of new GM 01-04 Corvette LS6 engine fuel rail covers that we have modified to fit 99-02 LS1 Camaros and Firebirds.  These covers are red with black lettering. We notch the corner of the cover to clear the throttle cables and throttle bracket on the Camaro/Firebird engines (Corvettes use an electronic/fly-by-wire throttle).  The covers are all test fitted on an engine to ensure they are cut properly.  There are a few other minor modifications you need to do to get them installed (such as moving some clips, bending the dipstick tube, rerouting wires, etc) since a Corvette LS1 has different accessories, but nothing else needs to be modified with the covers.  Instructions with photos are included, as well as cable ties. We install/modify these on a regular basis.

SAMPLE SET OF LS1 COVERS INSTALLED ON A 99 CAMARO:

We get many questions and comments about installing these covers, and what they fit onto, so here are facts about the Corvette fuel rail covers:

(1) Corvette engines are slightly different than Camaro/Firebird engines.  The first difference is the front drive accessories (not related to the fitment of the covers).  The second difference is that Corvettes use an electrical throttle, not cable operated (that's why the covers need to be notched, to clear the throttle cable bracket). The 3rd difference is that Corvette engines don't use an EGR system, they have different exhaust manifolds, and an intake w/o the front EGR hole.  The last difference is that 97-98 Corvette engines use a fuel rail with a feed and return line, the 99-present Corvette engines (including 98-02 Camaro/Firebird) use a single feed line (the pump is regulated for pressure and there is no return line), that's why 97-98 Corvette covers have 2 slots (2 fuel lines), and 99+ have 1 slot (1 fuel line).  In fact the fuel rail is the same 99+ Corvette and 98-02 Camaro/Firebird.  All LS1 engines have the fuel tank vent line (which everyone mistakes for a fuel line), it actually sits UNDER the cover).

(2) 97-98 Corvette and 98 Camaro/Firebird use perimeter bolt valve covers, in which the coil packs are bolted directly to the valve/rocker cover.  99+ LS1 engines have center bolt valve covers, and each coil is mounted to a central bracket that is bolted to the valve cover (to make repairs easier).  Because of this, the coil studs are in different locations.  99+ covers are snap on 99+ engines, 97-98 cover snap onto 97-98 engines. There is no cover specifically for the 98 Camaro/Firebird LS1 since the fuel rail is the 99+ Corvette variety and uses the older valve covers. SORRY.

(3) For some reason, other sellers/E-bayers tell you the covers all fit the same, obviously not.  Some say the 97-98 covers fit the 98-02 motors, other say the opposite.  All are wrong.  The facts are above.  Secondly, other sellers/E-bayers cut/hack the back of the cover off and drill holes to clear the oil dipstick.  Why?  Because they are selling you the wrong item.  These are engine covers, meant to cover the engine, not the front 1/2 of the engine.  Next time you're at a car show, look under some hoods and see for yourself.

Fits the following:

99, 00, 01, 02 Camaro Z28, SS
99, 00, 01, 02 Firebird Formula, Trans Am, WS6, Firehawk

These DO NOT FIT 1998 Camaro/Firebird engines.  SORRY!

We other year Corvette covers available for different year LS1s.   We also have other color fuel rail covers, just view our other items.

Aston Martin Vantage GT2 (2008): first official sketch

Fri, 04 Jan 2008

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 04 January 2008 15:53 Hot on the heels of the V12 Vantage RS comes Aston Martin’s new race car. Based on the V8 Vantage road car, the aptly named Vantage GT2 will compete in the GT2 race category. Aston Martin is thus (rightly) very proud to offer a race car in every GT category.

Bought a hybrid car? You probably won’t buy another.

Only 1 in 3 would buy a hybrid car again. Automotive Researchers Polk reveal that buyers of hybrid cars in the USA are unlikely to buy hybrid again. It’s a persuasive argument: Buy a hybrid car, travel in comfort, average 70mpg and save the planet.

Volkswagen Golf GTI W12 concept (2007): first official pictures

Thu, 17 May 2007

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 17 May 2007 04:44 VW Golf GTI W12: the lowdown We loved the Clio V6, despite its dynamic shortcomings, and some CAR staffers still go weak at the knees at the mention of a Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 rally car. But now Volkswagen is muscling in on the mad-hatch genre by showing this one-off Golf GTI W12. You read that right.
