Very nice original AMC 390 crankshaft. The forging number looks to be 3190797F. The last 7 loks to have been stamped over by the factory making the part number 3190798F. The crank has a date stamp of 5 68 as shown. This crank came out of the estate of a machine shop owner. This crank was machined long ago, has the journals coated in cosmoline, and stored on a crankshaft tree. The crank is freshly turned .010 under on the rod and main journals. The journals are mint. The other areas of the crank have scattered corrosion as shown, no biggie. The threads are all very nice. This is a super clean factory forged steel crank. I believe this crank fits 68-69 models and may also fit 1970. Please confirm your specific application.

Following an initial judging process, the selection for best designs comprised of Simon Tarrant's 'Street Rower'; Nick Rawcliffe's 'Snowbone'; Natalie Daghestani's 'Hylo female commuter shoe'; Steven Spong's ‘Longbow'; and Harley Zblewski's 'Suitcase Car' -  a design we first saw at Coventry University's annual Degree Show in June.

McLaren P1 Nurburgring record time is…a fiction for designers inspiration

Fri, 24 May 2013

The source for the story was an image taken from a Chinese website showing the McLaren logo and a time board showing the P1 as having done a lap of the Nurburgring in 6:33s. The image was real, but the story wasn’t. It seems the image was part of a ‘Mood Board’ McLaren put together when they were designing the P1 to inspire their designers with what could be possible, and that’s found its way on to the Interwebs in China.

Seat Leon Cupra R (2009) first official pictures

Thu, 20 Aug 2009

By Gareth Evans First Official Pictures 20 August 2009 10:59 Seat has unveiled its most powerful production car ever, the new Leon Cupra R, with an S3- and Scirocco R-matching 261bhp.   Performance figures for the front-wheel drive hot hatch look good: 62mph is dispatched in 6.1 seconds, the top speed is 155mph, and yet the Cupra R returns 34.9mpg. Thank the high-tech 2.0 turbo engine from the Volkswagen group, which in this incarnation makes 261hp. Helping get all that power through the front wheels is XDS, the same system you'll find on the Golf GTI that effectively mimics a limited slip differential through the use of electronic wizardry.
