Grand National Roadster Show kicks off in California
Fri, 28 Jan 2011History continued today at the Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., as the 62nd annual Grand National Roadster Show opened its doors for the weekend. Twelve open-topped hot rods will vie for the title of "America's Most Beautiful Roadster" and the right of their owners to scratch thier names onto the accompanying nine-foot-tall trophy. A few minor tweaks to the rules will make this year's judging something new.
Fiat-Chrysler to make Jeeps, Alfas in Italy starting in 2012

Fiat-Chrysler will invest more than 1 billion euros (more than $1.3 billion) to retool the factory.
Toyota's quake-hit Yaris plant offline for at least another month
Wed, 30 Mar 2011Toyota's quake-hammered Miyagi assembly plant, which makes the Yaris small car for export to the United States, is expected to be offline for at least another month. Workers have completed repairs at the factory and restored electricity, but the facility cannot get supplies of natural gas, a person familiar with the situation said. The assessment underscores the long road facing Toyota and other Japanese automakers in bringing plants back into full operation following the deadly quake, which killed more than 11,000 people, ruptured gas lines, shutdown electric grids and snarled logistics across half the country.
