The takeover of Porsche by VW has been a long and rocky road, but then family fallouts are always messy. It all started with Porsche attempting to consume VW, but some clever manoeuvring by Ferdinand Piech thwarted the efforts of his cousin, Wolfgang Porsche, to swallow up his business and the financial crisis saw Porsche rack up €10 billion in debt in the process.
2014 Michelin Guide reveals best new stops for hungry drivers
Thu, 26 Sep 2013MOTORISTS will soon be able to enjoy the very best food in the British Isles as part of their journeys, as Michelin has confirmed a launch date for its 2014 guide to Great Britain & Ireland. The guide will be made available from October 4 as a book, for £15.99, and an Apple app for £5.99, giving drivers fingertip access to every Michelin-awarded restaurant, which in turn could make every long-distance drive a new culinary adventure. Michelin first founded the guide in its native France, where at the time the motor industry was more widespread than anywhere else in the world.
Call for complete smoking ban in cars

That is the finding of a study of driver attitudes, where 71% said the Government should go further than it presently does to people smoking in cars. Of 7500 people polled, the study found 71% also believe smoking in cars should be made a criminal offence if children are in the car at the same time.
