Billet Y 04-09 Crf250 04-12 Crf250x Cr500 Engine Aluminum Frame Conversion - Wye on 2040-parts.com
Washington, Utah, US
This auction is for one billet aluminum Y-piece designed to convert a 04-09 CRF250R or 04-12 CRF250X to accept a 1989-2001 CR500R engine. This is not an auction for the completed frame just for the Y-piece. This Y-piece is machined from a solid block of 6061-T6 aluminum, then de-burred in a media tumbler. The front engine mount is machined into the Y-piece such that you will not have to fabricate front engine mounts. The ends are machined to fit over the tubing of the frame to allow the strongest possible welds. With this Y-piece, you do not have to replace the square tubes that run under the engine. As you can see from the images it makes a very clean looking conversion. CR500 engines from 1985 to 1988 can be used, but require the swing-arm bolt bushings in the rear of the case to be modified.

Fisker Automotive lays off some workers as government reworks loan
Mon, 06 Feb 2012Work on the Fisker Nina family sedan has temporarily halted at the Fisker Automotive plant in Wilmington, Del., while the carmaker and the federal government hash out details of the company's $529 million Department of Energy loan. The interruption has resulted in the layoff of 26 people at its Delaware plant and a number of contract engineers at Fisker's Anaheim, Calif., headquarters. Fisker Automotive said some of the engineering-staff reductions in Anaheim were already planned to occur in between development of the Karma and the Nina.
Jaguar Land Rover open new engineering test centre in Dubai
Sun, 12 May 2013Jaguar Land Rover are growing at a tremendous rate, and that means more and more testing of cars to make sure they can cope with the extremes of climate they’re subjected to by owners around the world. So as part of their growing test programme, JLR have extended their testing and engineering facilities in the Al Barsha area of Dubai so they can test durability, calibration and hot weather testing for heat and humidity as well as test the powertrains, chassis, HVAC and, as this is Dubai and it has plenty of sand, they can also give the Land Rover Terrain Response systems a proper workout. JLR has been hot weather testing in Dubai for more than 12 years – an area where temperatures can reach 50 degrees Celsius – and the new facility replaces a much smaller one in the same area, and joins Jaguar Land Rover’s other test facilities at the Nurburgring, Arjeplog in Sweden and Phoenix and International Falls in the States to ensure all JLR’s new cars get subjected to everything from extreme hot and cold to track work.

Mon, 07 Jun 2010Looks like the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider is getting a folding hard top You don’t need to be a supercar guru to know that Maranello’s latest mid-engined wonder – the Ferrari 458 Italia – is going to spawn a convertible version in the not too distant future. And if you claim to be a Ferrari aficenado you can probably proclaim – with reasonable certainty – that it will be a rag-top Spider. But it looks like you could be wrong.
