Infiniti previews Sebastian Vettel-inspired FX50 before Frankfurt motor show

Infiniti released a photo of the sinister-looking FX50 concept inspired by Sebastian Vettel on Sunday. The 390-hp sports crossover looks to be painted in matte white, which was one of the things discussed in the Vettel FX50 teaser video we saw on Friday.
The video shows Vettel and Infiniti design chief Shiro Nakamura discussing the vehicle that is set to debut in Frankfurt, including colors, steering wheels and carbon-fiber accents.
It looks like most of that made it to the car, including the rear roof spoiler in carbon and the no-gloss finish. Infiniti only released one photo of the Vettel FX50, so hopes of the F1-inspired, 20-button steering wheel remain intact. LED fog lights sit in the lower portion of the front bumper, which look to be made of carbon fiber as well. Oversized Infiniti wheels in charcoal gray are wrapped in Bridgestone rubber.
The quarter-panel gets a triangle-shaped badge that conveniently looks like a V, with a winding road in relief making the S. The name “Vettel” is written across the lower portion.
The driver was given his pick of the Infiniti lineup earlier this year when the company began its sponsorship of Red Bull Racing. The FX50 reportedly was his pick because it can carry his mountain bike.
The Frankfurt motor show is set for Sept. 15-22, and we expect to get the rest of the details then.
