Toyota RAV4 (2010/2011) at Geneva

Tue, 16 Feb 2010

The 2010 facelifted Toyota RAV4 will be at the Geneva Motor Show

It’s inevitable that with only a couple of weeks to go until the Geneva Motor Show opens that announcements on new and facelifted cars are rolling in every day. This morning it’s Toyota with news that they’re taking the facelifted Toyota RAV4 to Geneva.

Unfortunately, Toyota hasn’t seen fit to give us too many details. In fact, hardly any. Which probably indicates that the RAV4′s changes are relatively minor.

Toyota has sent us just one photo of the 2010 RAV4 showing a slightly changed front end. So it looks as if they’ve just grafted on the nose from the JDM Vanguard, which is effectively a LWB RAV4 for the Japanese market. The changes amount to new headlights and a revised front grill with extra bars, slight re-shaping of the bumper and bonnet and new fog lights.

There are said to be changes to make the interior “more refined” and Toyota are saying that “its [the RAV4] range of Toyota Optimal Drive powertrains, RAV4 2010 will be one of the cleanest competitors in the compact SUV segment” so they’ve obviously had a nip, tuck and tweak to lower CO2 and improve economy.

So not exactly earth-shattering changes, but we will get more detail – if in fact there is any more – soon enough.
