LED bulb & socket kits are brighter and smaller than traditional bulb & socket kits, allowing for ease of installation in compact taillight housings. These lights do not tap into the vehicle’s existing wiring & are operated by the towing vehicle.

WARNING: Improper wiring may result in blown fuses, damaged wiring, fire, and/or bodily injury. Blue Ox® recommends that a trained professional install the tail light wiring kit. Blue Ox® will not be responsible for any personal property damage or bodily injury caused by improper wiring or misuse of this product.
 
NOTES:
  • Can be used anywhere the BX8869 bulb and socket kit is used.
  • If the towing vehicle is equipped with separate amber turn signals and red brake lights, a tail light converter (not included in wiring kit) is needed to convert the amber/red 5-wire system to the standard “red only” 4-wire system.
  • A heavy duty flasher unit may be required in the towing vehicle to power the added circuit load of a towed vehicle.
  • Original inventory of the wiring kits were received with red/green/white wiring. The newer inventory has the standard black/brown/white wiring. View Wiring Diagram in the installation instructions for proper wire colors.

All of these cars achieve CO2 figures below 120g/km, which places them in the UK's VED tax band B and, according to Volvo, makes them the most efficient cars in their respective classes. UK sales start in January 2009.
