Suunto Bulkhead-Mount Compass

Made in Finland.  Model: B110  Serial Number: 728675.  Compass card size approximately 4" diameter and mounting hole to install compass is 5" diameter.  I am selling the compass from my Contessa Sailboat.  This compass is balanced for Zone 1 (North America) and seems to work fine.  I replaced this compass with a “world-balanced compass” only because I am planning on sailing worldwide and do not want to deal with the annoyance of the compass card tipping as I go further and further into the oceans of the southern hemisphere.  It has a compass card that is divided up into quarters that are colored red, green, red, green.  It has a 12V compass light that also works fine as well as an aluminum anodized back cover for a neat installation.  It does have a large air bubble as well as some particulate that you can see in suspension in the fluid when the compass is significantly disturbed.  There are also a couple of nicks near the top of the plastic dome.  These things do not seem to interfere with its operation, however, you may want to get the compass serviced before installation or perhaps just do it yourself by replacing the fluid.  Compass will only be shipped within the USA.  Buyer will pay for actual shipping costs and insurance (if the buyer is unwilling to assume the risk of damage during transit).

2015 Land Rover Defender delayed – creating the absolute dog’s danglers will take longer

Tue, 21 May 2013

Recently, we reported  Land Rover’s design director Gerry McGovern saying of the 2015 Land Rover Defender  “This car will be the bollocks, I assure you. The absolute dog’s bollocks.” But it seems that creating the absolute dog’s danglers is going to take a bit longer than planned. Autocar are reporting that John Edwards – Land Rover’s Global Brand Director – has said the new Defender will not be going in to production in 2015 as planned, although Land Rover are planning to scrap the current Defender then as it will no longer meet emissions regulations.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta (2010) first official pictures: it's the new 147

Wed, 02 Dec 2009

Alfa has revived an historic badge for its all-new 147 replacement, seen here in these first official pictures issued today. Following a last-minute decision to ditch the name Milano – precipitated by angry Milanese workers irritated at Alfa naming the car after the town despite having shifted operations to Turin – the Golf fighter will be called Giulietta. Using a new platform that will underpin the next Fiat Brava, the Giulietta uses a mix of steel and aluminium clothed in bodywork that borrows cues from the 8C supercar – sort of – including sweptback headlights and a narrow glasshouse.
