O'Brien Fiat's indoor Fiat Studio surprised passer-by Kyle Roberts of Franklin, Ind.: "I haven't really seen a car dealership in a mall before," says Roberts, who went into the store with his wife, Mandy, to look at the four Fiat 500s on display. Team Lotus buys Caterham Cars - and a Team Lotus Special Edition Seven to celebrate Team Lotus – that’s the ‘Lotus’ F1 run by Tony Fernandes, not the Hethel mob run by Dany Bahar – has bought Caterham Cars from Corven Ventures for an undisclosed sum. Which is all very apposite, what with Caterham being the spiritual home of Colin Chapman’s Lotus Seven and keeper of the Chapman ethos of lighter is better. To tie Caterham back in to the Lotus name could work wonders for sales.

Aside from the retro Camaro muscle car and new Corvette, Chevrolet’s car range doesn’t drum up a huge amount of lust in the UK – but a snippet of news from Down Under got us thinking that could change. Chevrolet’s fellow GM brand Holden has announced it’s going to sell an Australian-market version of the Sonic RS hot hatch, badged as the Barina RS. Why does that matter us?
