Here we have a great, original set of Kelsey Hayes Buick 40 spoke wire wheels. These sought-after optional wheels are getting harder and harder to find. I know the blood lines of this particular set and they did come off a '54 Skylark approx 50 years ago. The rims are 15x6 and 5 on 5 bolt pattern. There is no curb rash or damage. All spokes are tight and true. All four rims still retain their Kelsey Hayes and date stamps. These are early production 1954 with the exception of one. I was told one rim was replaced on the car in the mid 1950s. Dates: (1) 3 54 (2) 4 54 (1) 4 56. These would be a great driver set for an original car with patina or a fantastic core set for rechroming. With a serious cleaning and polishing they would be decent the way they are. They were optional rims offered by Buick 1954-1956. I will ship anywhere in the lower 48 states or you're welcome to come pick them up. I will ship via normal carriers.

Wheels are sold "as is". I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks for looking. Any questions, call or text 8607296805.

Renault Twin-Z concept (2013) first official pictures

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

This is the Renault Twin-Z concept (say it 'Twin-Zee'). Although it packs the usual concept car madness of suicide doors, a pared-back cabin and LEDs everywhere, it actually previews the look – and drivetrain – of the next Renault Twingo. The big news is that it'll be rear-engined, rear-drive, and offer an electric option for less money than the £13k Renault Zoe EV.

New Chevy pickup gets luxury trim

Mon, 24 Sep 2012

General Motors plans a luxury trim level for its next-generation Chevrolet Silverado pickup, its answer to the leather-swathed top offerings of its rivals. GM will name the model the High Country, according to dealers briefed on the plans during a national Chevy dealer meeting this month in Las Vegas. It's a response to the proliferation of high-end pickup models, such as Ford's F-150 King Ranch and Limited and Ram's Laramie Longhorn, which have sticker prices that can top $50,000.

SAIC wins LA Auto Show Design Challenge

Fri, 29 Nov 2013

China's SAIC, the parent company of Roewe and MG brands (yes, Morris Garages and what used to be Rover), took the top spot in the LA Auto Show Design challenge with its Mobiliant Concept, beating other contestants like BMW DesignworksUSA, Subaru, Mazda, Changfeng, Quoros, and others. The theme for this year's challenge at the LA Auto Show was "Biomimicry & Mobility 2025: Nature's Answer to Human Challenges." Entrants were directed to propose design concepts that integrated the concept of biomimicry into transportation concepts. Quite a challenge and quite an open theme, especially when you consider that last year's theme was pretty straightforward: "Highway Patrol Vehicles in the Year 2025." In 2012 the Subaru SHARC concept took the top prize.
