VW debuts Twin Up! Concept at Tokyo Motor Show

Volkswagen introduced the newest member of the XL1 family at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Twin Up! Essentially the plug-in hybrid version of the Up!, this four-seater concept car shares some of its drive system with the Volkswagen XL1 including its dual-clutch automatic transmission, diesel engine and electric motor. 'Top Gear' caught testing McLaren P1

The “Top Gear” boys were hanging in Belgium this week, shooting for the 21st season of the British television show. Some time next season we'll see the guys test this McLaren P1, caught by an observant YouTube poster. The video starts with the crew ogling the P1 supercar in the garage at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, before the camera car, a matte black Mercedes SUV, and the McLaren hit the track.

Aston Martin Production will soon see an injection of Mercedes DNA This isn’t the first time we’ve talked about a partnership between Aston Martin and Mercedes, but according to Car & Driver it’s now just about a done deal. As long ago as March 2009 we reported that Mercedes supplied the basis for the Lagonda SUV Concept (a Mercedes GL), and six months later we reported that Aston Martin were working on a Mercedes S-Class based Lagonda saloon. More recently we reported that the GL-based Lagonda SUV was back on and that Mercedes wanted Aston Martin to put together the next generation of Maybach.
