A set (4) of Firestone Wide Oval Super Sports (F70-14) tires removed from a restored 1969 Camaro, owner wanted a modern radial tire, as the car was a gift for his 16 year old daughter. Perfect for that hot rod or muscle car. The Firestone Wide Oval is the correct original tire for 1967 through 1973 Muscle cars. Tread width is 6.7 inches. Cross section width is 8.3 inches. Overall diameter is 26.2 inches. Approximate weight 20 pounds each. All Four tires have about 10/32nds tread left, practically brand new.

The DOT number is the same on all four (CYLDF2K5281). According to the websites I looked at (http://www.barrystiretech.com/dotcoding.html) Tires manufactured after 2000 have a four digit date code (week/week/year/year). If these were post-2000 tires the date would have been 52nd week of 2081. So that leads me to believe these are pre-2000 date code (week/week/year) tires so the date of manufacture would be 28th week of the 1st year of the decade. Unfortunately the decade is not indicated on the tire, so it could be 1981, 1971, 1961, etc… Did not list 1991, because 1990 DOT numbers were followed by a triangle. I removed these tires from a 100% restored 69 Camaro RS in 1997 and forgot about them in storage. So I believe these tires are not reproductions.

All packaging & shipping charges are the buyer's responsibility.

All four tires together exceed USPS Standard Post and FedEX ground/home delivery shipping limits. Tires will packaged two taped together (40 lb), not in a box. For this reason the shipping estimate may need to be doubled for two separate packages of 40 lbs each. The difference of actual shipping cost and estimated shipping cost will be refunded to bidder.

Citroën designers: Design students have 'golden opportunity'

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

Today's car design students "have got a fantastic opportunity in a very different world," say Citroën designers. Though the automotive industry has been suffering in many regions in the current economic climate, the next generation of car designers "have got a fantastic opportunity," says Andrew Cowell, Senior Design Manager at Citroën, in conversation with Car Design News at the Royal College of Art, London. "The industry will evolve quite a lot, and these guys (the students on the postgraduate Vehicle Design course) will come out into a very different world." "They'll start in a very interesting period", says Alexandre Malval, Citroën Design Director and himself a graduate from the RCA course.
