RTT Student Awards contest launched

Students from around the world have been invited to enter the annual RTT Student Award, sponsored by NVIDIA and Wacom. RTT has called for submissions of visionary ideas and concepts to enter in the categories of ‘Emerging Technology' and ‘Funky Visualization,' with an expert judging panel deciding on the highest caliber submissions. GM posts quarterly net income of $1.96 billion

General Motors Co., in its final financial snapshot before next week's initial public offering of stock, posted third quarter net income of $1.96 billion on revenues of $34.06 billion. The results, released Wednesday, were in line with a forecast issued last week. GM now has earned $4.16 billion on revenues of $98.71 billion through three straight profitable quarters this year--a dramatic swing after five consecutive annual losses.

Hyundai has revealed prices for the 2013 Santa Fe, which moves upmarket with new looks and new pricing. Starts at £25,495. The new Hyundai Santa Fe (which isn’t the new ix45) seems a long way on from the boxy, almost utilitarian, current Santa Fe with its take on Hyundai’s Fluidic design mantra, now dubbed ‘Storm’, making the new Santa Fe look a much more premium offering than the current model.
