Donkey Kong Derby Car wins IDSA Launch Day 2013 competition

Product design consultancy Priority Design's ‘Donkey Kong Derby Car' was the winner of the IDSA Launch Day 2013 competition, earning its team a brand-new 3D printer. The Launch Day competition, which took place at the Industrial Design Society of America conference on 24 August, asked for designs for a tiny 3D-printed car that could be launched down a miniature model of a ski jump before smashing into a crash site. Featuring Mario and Princess from the classic Nintendo series in glorious 32-bit form, the Donkey Kong Derby Car – car being a very loose term, as it has no wheels – was, in fact, a barrel.

Just a couple of days on from the reveal of the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series, Mercedes delivers a video of their new Black Series. And the SLS Black probably gets closer to what the McLaren SLR offered than the regular SLS does, although it’s still down on the power of the SLR, and its performance to 62mph is no better and its top speed is 10mph slower. Porsche recalls GT3 for fire risk

Porsche is telling 2014 911 GT3 owners to park their cars until the company can check them out for engine problems that could cause a fire. Porsche says it will pick the vehicles up and take them to a Porsche Center immediately, and that safety is its immediate concern. Two vehicles in Europe caught fire after engine damage occurred, so Porsche decided to inspect all 785 vehicles delivered worldwide.
