Honda CR-V Black Edition & White Edition launch

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

The Honda CR-V Black Edition (pictured) and White Edition launch The new Honda CR-V – a sensible type of SUV for car buyers who don’t need a ‘lifestyle’ SUV – has been with us for more than a year, so a limited edition model is called for to keep up footfall in Honda’s showrooms. That means Honda resorting to the tried and trusted route of monochrome specials with the CR-V Black Edition and CR-V White Edition with cosmetic tweaks for a bit more presence and extra kit for a bit more comfort. Both the Black Edition and White Edition get 19″ Orion alloys, exhaust finisher and privacy glass, a new patterned grill, tailgate spoiler, running boards and skid plates front and back.

VW Golf R 400 could get more than 400PS – which makes a bit of a nonsense of its name

Mon, 12 May 2014

The VW Golf R 400 (pictured) may not actually be an R 400 The Beijing Motor Show last month saw the debut of the VW Golf R 400, an extreme take on the VW Golf R with a full 400 PS (395bhp) at its disposal. When Volkswagen revealed the R 400 as a concept we did note that it looked more production-ready than concept, and it took VW less than a week to confirm that the Golf R 400 was indeed heading for production. Now, just to muddy the waters a bit (or raise expectations), VW’s R&D chief Heinz-Jakob Neusser has said that when the Golf R 400 does arrive it could well be with more than 400PS.

BMW M3 set to compete in DTM from 2012

Fri, 30 Apr 2010

It might have pulled out of F1, but the upshot is that BMW has announced plans to enter the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) in 2012 with the M3, plus it’s developing a new racer and 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, and will continue its other production car-based racing activities. ‘Following the withdrawal from Formula One, the realignment of our motorsport programme is raising our presence in production car racing to a whole new level,’ said BMW board member Dr. Klaus Draeger.
