2014 fuel duty rise cancelled
Thu, 05 Dec 2013Chancellor George Osborne has confirmed in his Autumn Statement that the proposed 2014 fuel duty increase has been cancelled. This means the scheduled 2p increase in tax on every litre of petrol will now no longer happen. Porsche is developing a new four-cylinder engine set to power entry-level model
Mon, 05 Sep 2011High-ranking officials at Porsche's Weissach research and development center in Germany have confirmed that engineering work is progressing on a four-cylinder horizontally opposed gasoline engine, details of which were first revealed by Autoweek earlier this year. The new boxer unit--which is earmarked to power a new mid-engine, entry-level model that insiders describe as a spiritual successor to the iconic 550 Spyder--looks set to become an integral part of Porsche's future model plans. Insiders suggest it will also be offered on the third-generation Boxster and the second-generation Cayman later on in their respective model cycles.
Lexus stops sales of some LS sedans
Tue, 25 May 2010Lexus has stopped selling some LS luxury sedans in the wake of a recall for a steering problem. The recall was announced on Monday. Lexus, Toyota's luxury division, is recalling 3,800 units of the 2009 and 2010 LS 460 and LS 600h.
