The Detroit Motor Show - or North American International Auto Show, to give it its full title - is one of the most important motor shows on the planet. Of all the American shows, Detroit is arguably the best, not least because it takes place right at the start of the year, kick starting the motor show calendar. Lotus supermini 'here in October 2013' - Bahar

Lotus's proposed supermini has been approved and will be built in partnership with parent company Proton and a third car manufacturer, Lotus chief executive Dany Bahar has told CAR. 'Our city car has been confirmed and will be launched in October 2013,' he said. 'We are doing this together with Proton and another OEM [original equipment manufacturer, or car maker].

Government urged to cut fuel duty

CAMPAIGNERS are pressing the Government to cut fuel duty by 3p a litre. The FairFuelUK campaign has taken credit for a series of fuel duty freezes over recent months. Today, a week ahead of the Budget, the group is presenting a letter to 10 Downing Street calling for a 3p cut.
