July 1928 "The Alexander Aircrafter"

Alexander Eaglerock, Bullet and Flyabout

The Alexander Aircraft Company published "The Alexander Aircrafter" series monthly in the late 20’s and early 30’s. The Eaglerock aircraft were built in the Denver suburb of Englewood and after the factory burned, in Colorado Springs Colorado. The company was started by a couple of brothers who were in the film industry and wanted an airplane to deliver their films. They could not find an available aircraft that was suitable, so designed one. The Eaglerock series became very popular and for a time, were producing more aircraft than anyone in the world. Al Mooney of Mooney Aircraft fame was a designer for Alexander Aircraft. The magazine contains period photographs and articles about their aircraft and articles about aviation in general. It measures 7 7/8 inches by 5 ½ inches. The issues were known for their colorful and often whimsical covers.

Up for auction is a July 1928 issue. The binding (staples) are loose. I would consider it in good condition. It contains 22 pages.

Jaguar to offer 4WD across its range – but does that mean for the UK too?

Tue, 04 Dec 2012

Jaguar has revealed it plans to offer all wheel drive models across its range for future models, but will the UK get the chance to buy a 4WD Jaguar? Not only was the lack of a four wheel drive platform hampering sales, but it was cited as one of the main reasons Jaguar hadn’t given the green light to an XF Estate. But things have moved on in the last couple of years and Jaguar has recently launched a 4WD XJ and 4WD XF (although not for the UK) and finally delivered the XF Sportbrake (but without a 4WD option).

Ala Udin pleaded guilty to a string of motoring offences when he appeared before magistrates in Aberystwyth, Mid Wales. The 44-year-old father turned up to court with 11 points already on his licence and knowing that getting just one more would tip him over the ban threshold.
