Jaguar XF Black Pack revealed
Wed, 03 Nov 2010The Jaguar XF Black Pack can be added to the XFR and XF Diesel S The Jaguar XF has been a huge success for Jaguar, selling more recently in the UK than the comparable BMWs and Mercedes. And justifiably so, it’s a very good car. And not just as the Jaguar XFR either (which tends to be our default setting – the most powerful V8 you can squeeze under the bonnet) which offers more aggresive looks and enormous power, but in more lowly models too.
Mini Boosts Multimedia Appeal With Gopro Filming App
Fri, 13 Jun 2014THE Mini has never been camera-shy, but now the brand’s latest models can get themselves on camera easier than ever before. In what’s being touted as a world first for a car brand, a new Mini Connected App enables GoPro cameras to be controlled via the dashboard – meaning shooting a film is now as easy as changing a song on the audio unit. This makes it possible to start shooting with a camera mounted on or inside the car while travelling.
Official: Aston Martin gets its hands on Mercedes AMG engines & Electronic Architecture
Thu, 25 Jul 2013Aston Martin & AMG confirm they’re getting in bed together Back in December we reported that Aston Martin had new investment from Investindustrial and wondered if that would mean – thanks to an existing relationship between Investindustrial and AMG – if we’d see Aston Martin finally getting access to AMG’s engines and platforms. By May, things had moved on and it was clear that Aston Martin and AMG were in talks for Aston Martin to get access to their engines for the next generation of AML’s cars. Now those talks have borne fruit and AMG and AML have signed a letter of intent for Aston Martin to “access significant Mercedes-AMG GmbH and Mercedes-Benz Cars’ resources, allowing the development of bespoke V8 powertrains and the use of certain components of electric/electronic (e/e) architecture.” Interestingly, there’s no talk of V12 engines – which could mean Aston Martin are going to move from the current Ford V12 for the DB9 and Vanquish to a powerful V8 from AMG – and nor is there talk of sharing platforms.
