The Petersen Museum isn't going belly up

Thu, 18 Jul 2013

I hate writing columns like this, the kind where one media outlet calls out another's mistakes. There but for the grace of God go I and all that… But the shrieking and hysteria over the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles going to hell in a handbasket -- that's what the LA Times reported -- is over the top, and it's turned into a fiasco. Olympian Hoy dreams of racing at Le Mans

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

SIR CHRIS HOY is planning a competitive comeback in 2016, with the Le Mans 24 hours race the target rather than the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. The 38-year-old is Britain's most decorated Olympian with six gold medals, including two at London 2012, and has won 11 world titles. He announced his retirement in April 2013, but his passion for motor racing and competition will be fulfilled after agreeing a deal with Nissan, which will see him compete in the 2014 British GT Championship.

Mini Countryman (2010): first official pictures

Wed, 20 Jan 2010

This is the Mini Countryman, the fourth addition to Mini’s range – after the regular three-door hatch, the Convertible and the Clubman – and also the first current-generation Mini to have four-wheel drive and four regular passenger doors. No, Mini says the Countryman is a crossover, and the four-wheel drive system – called Mini All4 – is an option. Think of the Countryman as a slightly bigger and more practical Clubman with a longer wheelbase than other Minis, four proper doors and a conventional lift-up rear hatch, but to make sure it looks a bit more butch Mini has given the Countryman a bigger, bluffer nose than its siblings.
