Up for auction is an excellent used gearbox cluster gear or laygear or countershaft gear for the late MGB (1968 to 1980) or MGC stock ratio transmission. This is for the all synchro transmission not the earlier 3 synchro transmission. all gear teeth, bearing surfaces and thrust washer surfaces are in like new condition. This is the standard ratio cluster gear 22B557, not the close ratio gear. Moss number 462-055, Victoria 2-2806. These retail for over $120 when you can find them. The commercial sector could be getting a jolt of electricity from Nissan in late 2013. The company is testing all-electric versions of the NV200 minivan with the aim of offering the vehicles in taxi and delivery van models. The NV200 runs the same powertrain as the Nissan Leaf.

The Fiat 500 Electric Concept was at the Detroit Motor Show this year At the 2010 Detroit Motor Show Fiat brought along an electric concept version of the Fiat 500, together with a Chrysler-badged Lancia as a clear indication that times are changing at Chrysler. And it would appear they’re changing even more quickly than we expected with the announcement that the Fiat 500 EV is going in to production, and will go on sale in the US in 2012. Obviously spurred on by the unexpected success in recent years of that other motoring retro icon the MINI, Fiat are pushing ahead with plans to introduce the regular Fiat 500 in to North America in 2010, although that will be preceded by the 500 Abarth and 500C Abarth, which will be the first versions of the 500 to reach American shores.

General Motors reveals two-wheel PUMA electric-vehicle prototype

It’s based on the same driving principles as a skateboard. It looks like a phone booth, or perhaps a baby stroller. But despite the unconventional nature of this vehicle, General Motors says a two-seat, two-wheel ride called PUMA could be a solution to loosen congestion in crowded urban areas.
