VW to buy Italdesign Giugiaro, sources say
Wed, 19 May 2010Volkswagen AG will buy a controlling stake in Italy's largest design and engineering firm, Italdesign Giugiaro S.p.A., two industry sources confirmed to Automotive News Europe. One of the sources said that an announcement could come as early as next week. Italdesign and VW representatives declined to comment.

Under unusually blue skies and warm temperatures, the sunscreened faithful ogled a varied and eclectic lineup, from Ferraris and Porsches to the Ford tractor owned by Carroll Shelby's doctor. Last week we reported on a very special run of five special McLarens – the McLaren MP4-12C High Sport – commissioned by a dealer and created by McLaren Special Operations at Woking. The MP4-12C High Sport adopted cues from Mclaren’s MP4-12C GT3 for its cosmetic makeover with a new nose, new back bumper, bigger air vents, new diffuser and new rear wing, all set off by a new set of bespoke alloys.
