New Old Stock Silvertone AM radio for use in 1940 - 1950s six-volt applications. In original box. Silvertone manufactured this radio for Sears in 1949 – shipping card is dated May 10, 1949. Beautiful face plate and dial face with translucent burgundy knobs. Chassis has beautiful original burgundy finish. Model number 528.6293-1A with speaker built into the unit. Serial number A530738. Suzuki G70, Swift Range Extender at 2012 Geneva motor show
Wed, 07 Mar 2012You will not find too many detractors when it comes to the Swift, particularly in its Sport guise, but its clean-living brother was one of the two highlights on the Suzuki stand. The rather convolutedly-named Range Extender was actually first shown at Geneva in 2010, but has since undergone further development. More interesting is the G70.

Sun, 08 Sep 2013The Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan Concept (pictured) previews the 2014 Golf Plus VW are calling the Golf Sportsvan a concept, but it’s pretty much what we’ll see in the new VW Golf Plus when it arrives in mid-2014. Just like the other new Golfs, the Sportsvan uses the new MQB platform but grows in size. It’s 134mm longer than the Golf Plus and 83mm longer than the new Golf and has a wheelbase longer by 43mm to offer more space inside.

Fri, 16 May 2014Seven years ago, I bought a rough-looking-but-good-running 1992 Honda Civic DX hatchback, for use as a gas-sipping alternative to my daily-driver P71 Crown Victoria. These days, it's the car I drive when it snows in Denver, and it's a reliable all-around beater. The EG Civic (as the 1992-95 Civic hatchback was designated by the factory) has become a much-sought-after classic in recent years, sort of the '55 Chevy of the early 21st century, and there's such a vast array of factory and aftermarket performance hardware available that I haven't been able to resist the idea of doing some power and suspension upgrades.
