Ann Arbor Sportscar is pleased to offer for your consideration an incomplete convertible top bows frame assembly and header rail for the Triumph Spitfire 1500 model in original unrestored condition.  This top frame was recently salvaged from a 1973 Spitfire 1500 that was too rusty to restore, but had been garage-stored inside for decades.  The convertible top frame assembly opens and folds up readily and smoothly.  There is very minimal surface rust on the assembly.  This top frame assembly is in good overall condition – but it appears to be incomplete as it is missing the body mounting plates on each side.  Please look carefully at all the photos.  Please e-mail us if you have any questions.

Tue, 13 May 2014

Peugeot 208 Style arrives It’s nearly two years since the new Peugeot 208 started arriving in the UK, and it’s a decent little car with plenty of options and a sensible price tag. But the newness of the 208 is starting to wear off a little, so Peugeot are aiming to put some pep in to sales and some footfall in to showrooms with a new special edition 208 – the Peugeot 208 Style. Based on the best-selling 208 Active trim, the 208 Style comes with a panoramic glass roof, SatNav, parking sensors and chrome door mirrors, with the interior getting new seat trim.

Ford and GM tie-in with Apple

Thu, 10 Aug 2006

Having established a relationship with Nike for recycling materials as demonstrated on the Ford Reflex concept, Ford has now joined GM in collaborating with Apple to ensure their cars are iPod compatible. Rather than the retrofitted wire many drivers have had to resort to, cars will offer a bespoke area in the glove compartment that also acts as a charging point, the iPod instead controlled through the car?s GUI. By the end of the year, 70% of all new models sold in America are expected to be iPod compatible, an arrangement that furthers Apple?s continuing domination of the MP3-player market and one that will introduce Apple to the car-computer market, anticipated to be worth $6billion by 2010.

Wheel maker connects with exotic clientele via social media

Mon, 16 May 2011

Reaching potential buyers of custom wheels for exotic cars takes more than buying ads in magazines. Miami-based ADV.1 Wheels is building a business fueled by a social-media approach that includes car-forum interaction, photo shoots and short films on the Internet. The company launched a Facebook fan page in late March, has received more than 59,000 “likes” and aims for 100,000--at which point ADV.1 Wheels has promised to give away a set of the company’s Trakfunction wheels.
