This whale tail decklid came off of a very original very low mile early air-cooled 911. Since it was taken off the decklid portion of the spoiler has been beautifully refinished in guards red and ceramic coated for longevity. This is not fiberglass and not a knockoff. This is a very original and very well cared for piece of air-cooled history.
Brand:Porsche Warranty:No Placement on Vehicle:Rear Country/Region of Manufacture:Germany Surface Finish:Guards Red Make:Porsche

"First used in series production on the 1975 Carrera, the Whaletail spoiler changed in detail on the 911 Cars. The most noticeable difference is the deep black flexible part of the spoiler itself and a further revision in 1982 meant that the centre section was now to be built up on its top surface, like the turbo version, and the underside was cut back." -Original Porsche 911 copyright 1995

This beautiful whaletail should fit air-cooled cars from 1978 all the way up to 1989 but CHECK your sources for exact fitment specs and I believe this excludes some cabrio models.

A Classic Porsche is a wonderful thing to own and if your car is missing it's original rear spoiler or if you are looking to give your air-cooled classic Porsche and even more noticeable look then this is the piece that you are looking for. These decklids get harder and harder to find in this original condition. You will need to purchase a brand new gasket as that is what is recommended.

Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE (2010) Review & Road Test part 2

Sun, 25 Apr 2010

Part 2 of our review of the 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV6 Land Rover has had a thorough play with their range for 2010, a big part of which has been shoehorning in the latest lumps from Jaguar. The Range Rover Sport now comes with the 5.0 litre S/C engine from the XFR and the rather wheezy 2.7 litre diesel is swapped for the much livelier 3.0 litre from the XF. Not the 3.0 litre from the XF diesel S, mind you – that would have trampled all over the 3.6 TDV8 – but the slightly more pedestrian version with 242bhp.

CCS- American Iron and Steel Institute Challenge 2005

Tue, 15 Nov 2005

Transportation Design students from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit recently presented projects done in conjunction with the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). Three students were selected from the college to complete an internship: Chris Piscitelli, Sylvian Bryan and Sang Hoon Shin. They took on the challenge to design a 'functional, innovative and extreme-inspired vehicle that integrates environmental responsibility, cost efficiency and advanced steel materials.' Aside from the peripheral criteria, it is the 'extreme' theme that sticks, the brief satisfyingly encouraging students to really provoke with their imaginations. With the Challenge now in its 17th year, AISI puts its considerable resources to good use, Piscitelli, Bryan and Shin each receiving much support during their internship program, which includes producing scale models of their designs.
