Promech, Professional Mechanics Formula Penetrating Oil was developed and used by a small circle of professional mechanics, Hot Rod shops, and restoration professionals. It is now available to the public. Promech Penetrating Oil is faster acting and more effective at freeing up rusted, corroded, or seized fasteners and parts than anything currently available. It has also shown to work very well in cases of “galvanic corrosion of dissimilar metals”, such as the seizing of a steel bolt in an aluminum block. Save time, money and those valuable parts.

Promech has developed a penetrating lube, that is faster acting and more effective at freeing up rusted, corroded, or seized fasteners and parts than anything currently available. It is not intended as a universal lubricant. Promech concentrated their efforts on developing the penetrating part of the formula. After all, the slipperiest substance on earth is not going to loosen that rusted bolt and nut if it cannot get in there to work. It has also shown to work very well in cases of “galvanic corrosion of dissimilar metals”, such as the seizing of a steel bolt in an aluminum block.

Nearly half of male drivers admit to having fallen asleep at the wheel, a survey has found. Road safety charity Brake and insurance company Direct Line found that 31% of all drivers admit to ‘head-nodding’ at the wheel – meaning they’ve fallen asleep while driving a car for between two and 30 seconds. Bedford Autodrome to get Ariel Atoms for 2012

Corporate track-days at the Bedford Autodrome will get lairier in 2012 - Somerset-based Ariel has announced it’ll supply ten cars for the PalmerSport track-day events next year. Stopping short of the unhinged Atom V8, the PalmerSport-spec cars get the normally aspirated 245bhp Civic Type-R engine, and some key changes to set it aside from the Joe-Public Atom. The Palmer-spec car will get a Sadev paddle-shift sequential gearbox, which swaps ratios in 60 milliseconds, whilst some choice chassis mods optimise the Atom for its full-time track-toy brief.

GM throttles back on performance cars for 2010

It should not be a surprise, as General Motors scrambles to cut costs and cars sit unsold on dealers' lots, that the automaker is cutting high-performance versions of several vehicles for the 2010 model year. According to information from online ordering guides made available to GM dealers, the 2009 model year is the last for the Chevrolet Impala SS, the Pontiac G6 GXP and the Cadillac STS-V. Also, the SS trim in the Chevy Cobalt lineup will be limited to the coupe body style.
