Once you weld a tube connector into your tube, if you smooth out the welds, all you'll see is a small allen bolt which looks a lot better than the normal exhaust flanges that people use to connect tubes together on a sand rail, dune buggy, rock crawler, or mud buggy. Tube connectors are the easiest way to make a section of a chassis removable. Wed, 27 Nov 2013DRIVERS need to make sure their car is being properly serviced by a qualified mechanic, says the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). To help drives do this, it has launched a government-backed scheme called the Professional Register. While there are around 175,000 people in the UK who call themselves automotive technicians, the IMI says it can only recommend around 27,000 as having the required skills and competence to carry out work to the required standard in their specialism.

Fri, 25 Jan 2013A fantastic selection of concept cars from the ‘80s were featured in Back to the Future II such as the Pontiac Pursuit, the Ford Probe or the Saab EV-1, but my personal favorite was the Chevrolet Express that almost ran over Marty upon his arrival in the year 2015. Before being a movie extra, the Express was presented in 1987 as another attempt from GM to adapt aircraft engineering to automotive requirements. GM had been experimenting with gas turbines for more than 20 years, dating back to the 370hp XP-21 Firebird from 1954, but that concept was quite primitive compared to its younger brother.

Which is definitley a step in the right direction, even if we’re yet to be totally convinced that Arash Farboud can actually make a go of the AF-10.
