AA warns of automated penalties

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

DRIVERS are still suffering a year on from the time most wheelclampers were banned from operating in private car parks, according to the AA. Twelve months on, parking enforcement firms are reaping large sums from issuing automated "penalty" tickets. The AA said that while Communities Minister Eric Pickles is reining in local authorities who over-zealously use CCTV, private parking operators now rely heavily on this technology and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) to watch drivers and issue tickets through the post when they put a foot wrong in parking areas.

Brazil Grand Prix (2010) RESULT

Mon, 08 Nov 2010

Brazil Grand Prix 2010 - the penultimate race of the season No question, Interlagos 2010 was a Red Bull success story. Yes, they’ve made things more difficult for themselves by not having team orders, but a one-two from Vettel and Webber – with Vettel ahead – ties up the constructors world championship in Red Bull’s favour, but leaves the drivers’ championship open. If Red Bull had taken a leaf out of the Ferrari book of driver management – or frankly any other experienced team at this stage of the championship – they would have had Vettel give way to Webber and left themselves at the top of the drivers championship just a point behind third place Alonso going in to the last race.

Top Gear Tonight: Burma Road Trip part 2

Sun, 16 Mar 2014

Top Gear continues its Road Trip across Burma tonight In best Top Gear tradition, series 21 ended up just five episodes long, with last weeks episode being the first part of the Top Gear Christmas Special road trip through Burma. Tonight’s Top Gear – which you can think of as episode 7 of series 21 – is part two of the much delayed 2013 Christmas Special with the boys picking up where they left off last week, heading through Burma on the way to Thailand and the River Kwai. Having got to grips with their less than cutting edge lorries and suffered the Burmese equivalent of truckers’ overnight truck stops, Clarkson, May and Hammond are now heading further in to uncharted territory – certainly for Western Media – as they head towards Thailand and the River Kwai.
