Pulled from a running ski, motor has been rebuilt (cases resealed) but history is unknown. Everything pictured you will receive including stator/flywheel/front cover/coupler/starter/exhaust manifold/rotary wheel (still timed). The stator wires have been cut mid length. This is originally a white motor that was painted at one time. It has some exterior corrosion but cases and crank look clean and in great shape through inspection of intake ports. Compression was measured at approx. 151/149. Cosmetics aside, great runner! As with all motors with unknown history I sell "as-is" with recommendations of replacing gaskets and crank seals. Nissan Leaf owner arrested for stealing electricity
Thu, 05 Dec 2013File this under a problem we’ll see more of in the future: An Atlanta Nissan Leaf owner was arrested for stealing five, count ‘em, five cents-worth of electricity from his child’s middle school last month, according to NBC 11 Alive. Kaveh Kamooneh was at Chamblee Middle School where his son was playing tennis. Kamooneh saw the open outlet and figured he’d grab a few electrons while he watched the game.
Bedford Autodrome to get Ariel Atoms for 2012
Thu, 15 Dec 2011Corporate track-days at the Bedford Autodrome will get lairier in 2012 - Somerset-based Ariel has announced it’ll supply ten cars for the PalmerSport track-day events next year. Stopping short of the unhinged Atom V8, the PalmerSport-spec cars get the normally aspirated 245bhp Civic Type-R engine, and some key changes to set it aside from the Joe-Public Atom. The Palmer-spec car will get a Sadev paddle-shift sequential gearbox, which swaps ratios in 60 milliseconds, whilst some choice chassis mods optimise the Atom for its full-time track-toy brief.
Kia to launch a new range-topping V8 saloon dubbed K9
Tue, 22 Mar 2011Kia will build their rumoured rear-wheel drive V8 saloon - but it won't come to the UK, sources in Korea have confirmed to CAR.Following the domestic badge hierarchy, this new range-topper would logically be called the K9. Perhaps that dog-inspired badge may explain why the car won’t come to Europe, but US sales are expected. Kia’s new range-topper: the ‘K9’ The new large Kia saloon was scheduled to be shown in 2011, but it has now been pushed back to a 2012 launch. The new saloon would sit above the front-drive 3.5-litre V6 K7/Cadenza saloon in the Kia line-up. CAR understands the new exec will be ready by May 2012. The K9 represents the first application of sister brand Hyundai's rear-drive technology from the Genesis and Equus. Expect Hyundai's 'Tau' V8 engine under the bonnet, along with the upcoming eight-speed automatic transmission which arrived in the Genesis R-Spec saloon at the 2011 Chicago auto show.
