This listing is for a handle for your Smart car rear glass hatch.  These are very nice cars but a big complaint from owners is the lack of a handle to lift and close the rear glass.  This forces you to use the tips of your fingers to grip the glass edge and causes finger prints on the glass and a clean car...OH MY!

4SmartCar America offers an aftermarket handle on their web site for $49.95 + shipping and S-man offers another design for $39! Here is a better looking handle at less than half the cost and unlike the plastic handles offered by some others, my handle is black powder coated metal.

I am not an aftermarket auto parts company but just a guy that has come up with a really nice looking lifting handle converted from a drawer pull... Easy to install with no drilling or modification to the car or glass in any way and looks factory installed.  It comes complete ready to install with 3M Scotch-Mount double coated acrylic foam tape.  (OEM approved trim mounting tape).  This is the same mounting method most all automotive manufactures have used to secure door edge guards, emblems, ornaments, etc since the mid 70’s.

I will be listing several very nice and interesting items in the next few days, the item here is but one of them. Be sure to check out the "View Seller's Other Items" button in the blue box at the top of this page.

Aftermarket Car Plug-In Hybrid system developed (video)

Sun, 05 Aug 2012

The Department of Engineering Technology at the Middle Tennessee State University has developed a plug-in hybrid retro-fit system for cars. As hybrid cars show the world that we can get more miles to the gallon from fuel by adding in an electric motor to the mix (depending on just how that electricity is generated, of course), it was inevitable that aftermarket solutions would eventually surface. Now, the Department of Engineering Technology at the Middle Tennessee State University has popped up with what they claim is an after market plug-in hybrid system that can be added to just about any car and would cost – assuming it gets to market – around £2,000.

Concept Car of the Week: Matra Laser (1971)

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

Founded in 1937, French company Matra began its activities by manufacturing military equipment such as aeronautics and weaponry. In the mid ‘60s, under Jean-Luc Lagardere's ambitious direction, the company bought Automobiles Rene Bonnet to expand its portfolio with street and racing cars. The first model solely developed by Matra was the bonkers, but brilliant, 1967 M530, which took its name from the company's surface-to-air missile the R530.

2011 Buick Regal spied

Sat, 17 Oct 2009

The Vauxhall Insignia based 2011 Buick Regal spied The image you see above is of the soon to arrive (2010 as a 2011 MY) Buick Regal, which was snapped by a quick-thinking petrol-head and posted on Facebook. So what, you may say, if you’re reading this in the UK. It’s just another Yank-Tank.
