Yes, Volvo are busy downsizing their engines and trying to up the quality perception of their cars at the same time, in an aim to join the proper premium club inhabited by the likes of BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Jaguar. But that doesn’t mean Volvo should forsake performance in their cars, because even if performance models are not the bread and butter for premium car makers they are the golden halo that casts a premium gloss on lesser models.
Geneva motor show: 2010 Saab 9-3x crossover debuts

Beginning with a 9-3 SportCombi wagon, Saab engineers raise ride height by 1.4 inches, add the XWD all-wheel-drive system that we first saw on the Turbo X and pump up the exterior styling. Cummins works on a 28-mpg diesel with V8 power for pickups
Thu, 26 May 2011Cummins Inc. is developing a four-cylinder diesel engine aimed at giving full-sized, light-duty pickups the power of a small V-8 and overall fuel economy of 28 mpg. The project began in September using the Nissan Titan pickup, which is being used to test the engine, pickuptruck.com reports.
