Car Design Awards China 2013 contest launches
Fri, 02 Nov 2012未来，中国设计 Future car designers in China are again being challenged to meet the needs of the future by entering the CDN competition which is dedicated to identifying the most promising talent. The fourth annual Car Design Awards China is now open, and entries are invited from students of any design discipline who are studying full time at a college in China. They will work to briefs set by the design chiefs of brands including Audi, JAC, Qoros, Volvo Trucks and Volkswagen.

Tue, 03 Mar 2009Bugatti Veyron Bleu Centenaire - another Veyron Limited Edition appears at Geneva '09 [ad#ad-1] We had a pretty good idea this was coming, as we reported last week, but the Bugatti Veyron Bleu Centenaire has appeared at the Geneva Motorshow last night. Contrary to expectations, it would appear that the Bleu Centenaire carries the stock 1001bhp Veyron engine and not, as was much speculated upon, a boosted version. Still, it looks like Bugatti have had the paring scissors out, and the reduced weight of the Bleu Centenaire should trim the Veyrons already awesome 0-60 time by a tenth or two.
RCA Citroen/Exa Double Challenge project
Fri, 11 Feb 2011Second year students at the Royal College of Art in London revealed a series of projects at their interim degree show last week. Developed in collaboration with French automaker Citroen and the Exa Corporation, a leading supplier of aerodynamic software, the Double Challenge project asked students to design an ultra-compact model that could establish a unique Citroën e-vehicle aesthetic for the future, all while adhering to certain aerodynamic criteria that would not only reduce energy consumption and ensure stability at speed, but also visually communicate efficiency through its design. The project, which kicked off in October last year, was closely followed by representatives from Citroen and Exa, who examined each of the projects and chose a winner, Heikki Juvonen, at the event last week.
