BMW teases 2 Series Coupé with new video [w/Video]

BMW's 2 Series Coupé has been previewed in a video ahead of its reveal later this month. The teaser video – produced in the dramatic style favored by most carmakers – outlines the 2 Series' silhouette and from what we can see it's much sleeker and rounder than its predecessor while generally retaining the same proportions. Although the car – which is the second generation of the 1 Series Coupé – is debuting on 25 October, we won't see it on show stands until next January's North American International Auto Show.

It's a strange world we live in when, even in my short-to-medium lifespan, we've gone from the 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSi making either 205 or 214 hp—depending on who you're asking—to the Ferrari F70, which is rumored to make 950 hp with its V12 and KERS system. The reason it looks like the finished product is because underneath, the Ka shares components with the Brazilian market Figo, of which Ford has sold 100,000 in 2011. With production-ready giveaways bits like wipers and mirrors present and correct, it’s difficult to see anything changing before the new Ka goes on sale.
