Forget the Bocanegra badge, this concept is a thinly veiled teaser for the new supermini due to hit showrooms at the end of the year.It looks pretty special, a tantalisingly taut three-door supermini with good proportions and a fresh take on the swooping wheelarch line that has come to epitomise modern Seats. We’re less keen on the blindspot-inducing quarterlights, though.

Gone is the very boring old Sonata and in comes the very European style i40. It is a somewhat derivative design – from the ’Coupe Saloon’ school of design – but that’s a positive for a budget car maker like Hyundai.

But car makers are starting to push FCEVs in a bigger way as production costs fall and performance increases, and Hyundai are at the forefront of this move with the hydrogen-powered ix35 and its US equivalent the Hyundai Tucson.
