Qoros GQ3: Chinese rival for the Ford Focus revealed
Sun, 23 Dec 2012The first of a new range of cars from the Chinese Qoros brand – the Qoros GQ3 – has been revealed ahead of a debut at Geneva 2013. Three months ahead of that reveal Qoros has jumped in with a reveal of their first offering and some details about what it has on offer. Unsurprisingly, the reality is somewhat less exciting to look at than the dynamic-looking teaser image we saw last month. Planned to go on sale in both China and Europe during 2013 the Qoros GQ3 is aimed at young buyers, although why any car company would build a C-Segment saloon and expect young buyers to lap it up in Europe is beyond us.

Tue, 10 Apr 2012Electric Cars in Iceland now VAT free The Icelandic Government has decided to remove VAT on electric cars to bring EV costs in line with ICE prices. We don’t believe that Governments should be promoting EVs and Hybrids by giving tax breaks to buyers. In a country like the UK – and most other countries – promoting EV cars at the taxpayers expense is a nonsense.
BYD e6 electric-taxi fire kills 3 after high-speed collision with Nissan GT-R
Wed, 30 May 2012A BYD e6 electric taxi burst into flames following a collision with a Nissan GT-R in the Chinese city of Shenzhen on May 26. China Car Times reports that the driver of the GT-R might have been drag-racing while intoxicated. The Nissan was reportedly traveling at between 90 mph and 125 mph when it hit the BYD.
