This is an empty vintage brass fire extinguisher made by the General Fire Extinguisher Co. and it is  model 95HD.  It is the 1 1/2  qt. size and is about 17" long and comes with it's original mounting bracket which has a new coat of maroon  paint.  It has been polished and lacquered and as you can see in the pictures, it displays very well.  Someone did a lot of work on the website "vintagefe"  and that site states that General fire extinguishers were featured in Chris-Craft accessories from 1937 to 1960.  This would be the correct extinguisher for a 1952 - 1955 Chris-Craft boat. The extinguisher has two small dings on the backside at the bottom center and they can be seen in the pictures. There is one very small dent on the back side at near the top but it does not show up well in the pictures.  The T pump handle has a new coat of brass tome paint as when new and it  moves in and out as designed.  The brass label retains nearly all of it's original paint but some is missing. I do have a 1qt. model like this listed also.  The would make a great addition to a collection or mounted on a vintage boat, car, or truck.  Please check out my other vintage fire extinguishers I have listed.

Raikkonen win for Ferrari in Belgian Grand Prix

Sun, 30 Aug 2009

Kimmi Raikkonen wind for Ferrari at Spa-Francorchamps But the big winner of the day was Force India, with Giancarlo Fisichella taking his car to an astonishing second place. And there was no luck in the position either, both Fisichella and the Force India were strong enough to have won with a little more luck. Starting from pole, Fisichella was blitzed down the long straight by Raikkonen’s KERS, but managed to hustle the tail of the Ferrari to the end, finishing just 0.9 seconds adrift at the end.

Gibbs Sports Amphibians launches the Quadski

Tue, 16 Oct 2012

Gibbs Sports Amphibians has unveiled the Quadski, an amphibious all-terrain vehicle that, according to company founder Alan Gibbs, obliterates the distinction between land and water transportation. The 1,300-pound, 10.5-foot-long Quadski looks a bit like a jet-powered personal watercraft sitting on top of a single-seat ATV, but it's what's underneath the vehicle's molded composite body that separates the high-speed Quadski from larger, slower amphibious predecessors. The Quadski draws power from a BMW K 1300 Motorrad motorcycle engine capable of producing 175 hp.

Volvo Flywheel KERS Hybrid cuts fuel consumption by 25%

Fri, 26 Apr 2013

Two years ago we reported that Volvo were testing a clever hybrid Flywheel KERS system for road cars and hoped it would prove to be a good way to make road cars more economical. And it seems it does. The Hybrid Flywheel KERS system Volvo has developed weighs only 6kg, has a diameter of just 20cm, is made of carbon fibre, sits in a vacuum and is located on the back axle and works by recovering energy under braking which is then stored for use when the car moves off.
